A Perfectionist Approach To Learning

1. Try to learn everything in depth immediately – the fire hose approach … or

2. Start with a key learning and embed it by sharing with others. A good friend and New Zealand Business Women’s Network (NZBWN) colleague describes my approach to learning as “Must get a degree in that to show I know enough”. They are not wrong. Going against the strong urge to at least ‘do a course’ I am going to try to share a couple of takeaways from two World Business & Executive Coach Summit (WBECS) Full Summit webinars this month.

Change is changing.

Liane Davey’s perspectives had me thinking about the complexity of managing teams right now. Particularly how; Leaders are managing teams’ attention, anxiety, and conflict instead of the past management of performance alone.

To thrive we need to feel self directed, competent and connected.

Senka Holzer’s topic of Wellbeing Research for Innovative Coaching provoked the thought that in our current environment we need so much more than Maslow’s basic needs as a foundation to excel. I wondered that with complexity, the need for a strong foundation is greater than ever. Maybe I could research that myself …..
